Memoirs of A Pastor: Entry 8

*I have decided to share a choice few entries of my memoir.*

In chapel today, the message’s passage was Genesis 12:1-9—God calling Abraham to go to a different land. In verse 4, “Abram went, as the LORD had told him.” God is calling me to go to seminary, so I must go! God didn’t unveil all the details to Abraham, yet Abraham had faith. I don’t know the details of affording and attending seminary, yet I must have faith! Hebrews 11:8, “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Likewise, I don’t know where I’m going, but I must have faith!

Faith is trust that leads to action. Even when you don’t know where you’re going, know that you’re not going alone. Immanuel is “God with us” manifested in Christ. God is always with me, especially when I don’t know where I’m going and what the future holds for me.
