Memoirs of A Pastor: Entry 16

*I have decided to share a choice few entries of my memoir.*

Trust follows prayer. Jeremiah 32:26-27:

The Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”

As Jeremiah prayed for understanding, God began by speaking this liberating reminder to him. I wonder how often, when we pray, we forget that trust follows prayer. I forget this all the time; I’m an impatient person. But nothing is too hard for God. God liberated an entire people after 400 years in slavery; He can certainly take care of my problems, worries, and anxieties. How appropriate it is that I came across this passage on Pentecost Sunday. God is faithful to His people and thus rescues them—the Hebrew slaves from their slavery, and us from our sin through Jesus Christ.

Be patient; God is faithful and know what’s best.
